For 3D display, the technique of picking up 3D information from real objects is essential. This technique includes depth extraction like profilometry and direct acquisition of 3D contents. The first one has an advantage of relatively small constraints for optics, and the other has a potential to provide high-quality contents wihout high computation cost. I have worked on both of approaches and I am especially interested in the latter. For the former, I studied on light-of-sight algorithm and built the profilometry with multiple spatial frequencies. For the latter, I built a camera simultaneously taking real and virtual scenes of integral imaging without distortion and I’m planning to construct a perfectly pixel-matched camera for a hologram-like display.
